Prosper Companies’ Jud Parker Visits Conlan Company’s massive Davenport, Florida worksite where his Uncle is currently Superintendent. The Conlan Company (www.conlancompany.com) delivers true professionalism in general contracting, construction management, and consulting services for the commercial building construction industry. Since it was founded in 1987, The Conlan Company has grown from a small commercial contractor headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia to a national contracting firm with additional offices in Dallas, Texas and Jacksonville, Florida, licensed from the East Coast to California.
During Jud’s visit, he captured some pictures of the site including a brand new prototype model of a Manitowoc MLC 300 Crane. Only two of these prototypes have been manufactured worldwide, and with a lifting capacity of 330 tons, this was a trip highlight for Jud.
The three buildings going up on either side of Highway 1 in Davenport range in size. The smallest building (100) will be 109,570 sq ft finished.
The second building (200) will top out at 285,558 sq ft when finished, and the third building (300) will be the largest at 391,920 sq ft.
Proposed shell completion dates are in November, and the facilities are scheduled to become warehousing and office space in the Four Corners area. With a total of nearly 800,000 sq ft interior space, the project would be challenging for most any team.
Jud’s impressions of the job and the Conlan crew were extremely favorable. “Even while working in the full sun and heat, Conlan’s crew rhythm was seamless. I felt an easy and proficient atmosphere of on-schedule progress.”
Once complete, the development will join other large warehouses in the area such as the two Walmart Distribution centers.
